Contributing to the success of the new fully unmanned Mayflowe ship by AI

Silicon Sensing Systems Japan is a merger company between Atlantic Inertial Systems based in England and Sumitomo Precision Products based in Japan.
We produce and sell MEMS gyroscopes, accelerometers and IMU, we also provide MEMS Foundry service. To mark the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower set sail, and the new Mayflower challenged to ship autonomously. One of our products, “DMU30” made it possible. It is a high inertial sensing data and great product same as the quality of FOG at the time. However, MEMS could contribute more with less energy and cost less than FOG for the challenge.
The new unmanned Mayflower conducted not only the shipping test, but also monitore marine plastic, marine mammals, and sea level automatically. In addition, other products such as IMU, GPS, assists to ship at level 5 stage where it enables identify other ships, buoys, and lands without human control.
Marine research has risk and limits to spend time at sea for humans. It costs a lot as well. The demand of autonomous ships is going to grow. However, we will contribute to other fields, too.
