Unveiled the function and design of the new ship “Kaijin Maru”

The new ship “Kaijin Maru”, which Kobe University aims to operate in 2022, has social contribution functions such as support activities in the event of a disaster, in addition to the latest training ship and exploration ship functions. As the face of “Kobe University of the Sea”, Kaijin Maru is entrusted with expanding the expectations and dreams of the “sea” to many people, and is designed by a global industrial designer, Mr. Kiyoyuki Okuyama. The design is reminiscent of the dolphin “Luka”, which is a member of the “Triton of the Sea” image character of “Kobe University of the Sea”. The flag of Kobe University, “One Ocean, One Globe” is also eye-catching, which is marked with the dolphin.
